Our library is located in the centre of the city Törökszentmiklós in the place of the old Town Hall on the street Kossuth Lajos 135, decisive a main picture of this city, and constructed in year 1909.
We celebrated its 50th jubilee in year 1999, when it had took the name of bishop and scientist "Ipolyi Arnold", who was the priest of our city between year 1860 and 1863, and at the same time he was the president of Riding Association of Campaigns and the Readers. Our duties and our purposes are contentment of require of the library towards the inhabitants; to assure the access of important and modern informations (Internet, HBONE, etc).
We are linked to the cultural life of Törökszentmiklós, by organizing in most cases the artistic literature, the transmissions of stocks, demonstrations, conferences and the bibliographical holydays.
The library has 560 m2 of surface, two floors in 5 sections, on top of that the Museum:

We are about of a rich and brave collection, more than 100.000 documents, books, magazines, CD and DVD, videotapes, maps, musical notes and others.
We accepted the documents of the library by using the inserted system LIBRARIAN TEXTLIB. Our internal NET is ready and we shall serve informations as a party of net national HBONE by year 2000. We assure the Internet from year 1996, firstly by the support of foundation SOROS, and today by the Government across the program of Envelopement Infrastructurel as one member of association HUGARNET.

Between our various services, it's here, where the borrowing of books takes place. We greet happily the personal visitors as well as groups. More than 3000 persons; more than 20.000 visitors are regular readers; more than 160 of the magazines and various newspapers arrive at us persistently towards everybody. Our visitors can choose between 50.000 volumes of literature or popularizer writings. Audio-books of more than 100 volumes are available to the blind and mi-blind persons.
We assure the proper instruments in their uses (borrow of recorder, etc), and the possibility of using the Internet for the preempted persons and frames.
An European point of information helps our readers of knowledge and those who needs more informations on The Union European, its history and its daily life, of its villages and of its competitions …

Our technical demandables services are used on delivery: photocopying (also coloured); sporolage; lamination; etc.

• reserve forward books or documents which are borrowed
• extend the delay by telephone before the end of the delay of borrow

The documents of this section help in researches and in quick orientations (scientific book, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, geographical maps, artistic albums, books of addresses, directories of telephone, books, newspapers, newsletters, time tables, etc)
They can also study here on the material of the Collection of Local Knowledges in hungarian or foreign languages.
The books of the Reader's Room are borrowed only for the end of the week, for a fee of 5.000,- Ft to 20.000,- Ft depending of the value of book.
Newsletters, statutes of Town's Council of Törökszentmiklós, magazines, ancient years of newspapers are readed on place, but some newspapers are borrowed, too.
The databases of the electronic documents are useful (p. eg: juridical rudes; Hungarian agrarian Bibliography; weekly Worldwide Economy; Calculation of routing – geographical maps (Budapest, Hungary, Europe, ...); Bases of documents of public utility; etc).
The visitors of the library have the possibility of using at their job a computer with a printer for a slight fee. There is the possibilty to use the Internet in the Reader's Room and in the section of music and media, too.

You can:
• sort out more than 23.000 books and dozen of magazines in the Childish Library. You can find always the most important common. (more than 2.500 volumes);
• read double of stories about children, animals, interesting persons, Past time, extraordinary avantures, "frightening" sciences, dogs, the cats, „ When is it? ” and „ What is it? ”, etc.
• study, or play on the computer: more than half hundred of it is at your disposal.
• take help: on scholastic duties (duties, small presentation, research work); competitions and writings of the duties of courses and of them resolutions; the scientific, sports and of free time, artistic and personal; past-time; composition of programs; resolution of questions miscellaneous importants or not.
• borrow books nice to you and respectively to rules. If something would not be in our library, we try to get for you. If you would not come to the end of something, trust us courageously and we help you gladly.

The possibilities of this section individually or in group:
• visit and hear music on place, look at the video and use the Internet.
• read magazines importants for youngs in an amicable room and furnished as a club: BRAVO, Pro Modell, PC-Guru, Vox, Chip, Gramafon, Game Star, DVD, Rock Inform, etc.
• more than 1000 DVD and of 1000 VHS video are borrown (classical, novel, film adapted by the obligatory readers, film of stories and Nature, production price Oscar, etc), audio CD (classic, metal-rock, POP, etc), on top of that magazines mediales ancients.
• ask for a subscription on the present writings borrowed and to extend their delay of borrow by telephone.
We recommend and help you in computer questions of writings and using the e-mail; to compose school programs. We can take on copying of your videofilms on DVD or videotapes (family's events, monome, etc).
Every member of the library can use the library of music and media, but is needed to régistrer apart for borrowing. The tax of régistration:
• for adult: 3000.-Ft /year or 1800,-Ft /half-year
• for students; for above age 70 years and disabled persons: 1500,-Ft /year or 900,-Ft /half-year

The first thing is to collect printed documents about the city and its vicinity (books, newspapers, etc) and carrying of informations (videofilm, microfilm, audio-tape, etc).
Our importing duty is to collect also the computer subjects of the prominant persons tied to the city or to the place. We procure also the documents, the editions and the writings of the local authors. The number of independent writings is comparatively low, but We can find more historical and present informations on our city in several editions of the Country and the Comitat.
Jobs of diplomes attached in our places represent the important party of our collection. We finish at the smae time the arrangement of this collection by granting with the Collection Histoirique Locale (Museum), that we had put in day and analytically one of its parties, which is foundable within a catalog electronic by using the computer
Unfortunately, the small number of enrollment of the library did not allow us to update on top of that details periodical editions, but this will be our duty for next years.
This section helps the explorers, the writers of jobs of thezisdiplom, the students of schools and secondary schools in their research works, as well as the interesting over the past and the gift of our city.
We always give information and across the Internet on documents found in the library of Comitat, in Museum and in OSZK, and We shall bring the copy of the asked subjects. The subjects of this section are useful only on place because of their value and the small number of their tirtage.

It took its approval to practise in 1966. It was displaced during more than 30 years when they found finally its fixed place in 1992.
Since this time, the Gouvernment of the city is its conservtor. It gives place of more than 5000 pieces of documents in 3 rooms of depot and 5 rooms of exhibitions: Three rooms of exhibitions continuous and two periodicals.
We represent the local ethnography of the first half of XVIII.th-XX.th century, the historical material and archeology of period before 1900 by three rooms of continuous exhibitions and with guide of text, while the stocks of our city and the neighbouring habitats across periodical exhibitions.
We always enlarge the material of knowledge over our past by the organization of the historical sessions of our city yearly, with the expert collaboration of the members in Historical Local by giving possibility to the explorers, who will demand studies on our material.
A green covered playground gives place to the demonstrations of the weeks of the book and to cultural events of the library.
An edition is appeared and purchasable in the care of the collection:

• in the case of the borrow of books, if the rule of the gouvernement or one law assures not a delivery:

• in the case of utilisation of bases of services of the library, the members under of age 16 and more than 70 years old, 67% and above of disbility, the workers in the library and those of the institutes of archives and museums are acquitted of taxes.
• in the case of the borrow at the section of music and media, if the rule of the gouvernement or law assures not of remise:
................• for adults: 3000,-Ft /year (also understanding tax of use of Internet), or 1800,-Ft /half-year
................• for students, for adults of age 70 years and more, and the out-of-date: 1500,-Ft /year,

................•Those who are not registred in the library has to pay a tax of 200,-Ft /h for utilisation

You can borrow 10 books for a month; 4 CD or videotapes and 2 DVD for week. You find on top of that the possibility of borrow in depot the books for days closed by the library and the weekends. When mème, You still have the possibility of extending the delay of the borrow personally or by telephone (or by e-mail), as long as We don't find any reservation on the borrowable document, or it wasn't borrowed between libraries.
The delay is prolongeable for two times for books and once for videos, CD and DVD.
The library will send a recall to the reader by the end of the delay of the prolongement of 30 days. 30 days after and if the reader didn't answer on the first recall, it will send him a second. After 15 days again, the reader will take a recall of repayable within We confirm him that the library will offer action of one procedure of pressure, to validate within a procedure civil of litigation.
The taxes of poste and execution will be loaded by the borrower. Those who dispodent no job, recall will come to their guarantor and procedure will be made against him.

Pro Bibliothéca foundation formed on February 1st, 1995 by the collaboration of the librarians and the readers, and which wrote its purpose in a charter of foundation:
It helps in the duties of libraries espacially:
• the realization of professional programs and duties serving the possibilities of the information of citizens (the purchase of the considerable textbooks, tapes, CDS, softwares, documentaries for the base of informations of public usefulness)
• the support with means of library training and functioning of the cultural communantes
• the help of functioning of the Club of the readers; the organization of the camps of languages, readers, rivals and the competitions of poem and prose
• the support of the publication of the literary and historical édirions The activity of foundation became firmer and its job is defining in the cultural life of the city.
It is the originator of several new advantages and the series of demonstrations. Demonstrations serving the culture of reading and enjoying a resurgence of popularity between the citizens.

The Association formed on November 14th, 2005 by the support of the Library Municipale Ipolyi Arnold and the Historical Collection.
The Collection has decide to help it for research of missing intellectual ethnography on place.
We like to accomplish such community, which will be able to make own by these artistic subjects of high value, and not only there consist of it and vérera.
We like to colour the life of our city through our programs, and We are waiting of the citizens, the persons who like demonstrate their arts. We'll wait happily for the visitors in covered playground of the Historical Collection, where such demonstrations take place, on top of that who can try different jobs in his construction sites. We also participate in other demonstrations of other cities.
We find several members between us professionistes which will take responsibility for shopping if Artisan.
